This past November, the school demonstrated this belief by hosting two events to celebrate the diverse cultures within its community and encourage students to engage in cultural exchange.

These events provided an opportunity for students to share their own cultural traditions and to learn about the traditions of others.

Through these events, ESSEC APAC showcased its community’s richness and diversity and fostered an inclusive and welcoming environment where all students feel valued and respected.

The school is helping to create a more interconnected and understanding community by bringing students from different backgrounds together to share their cultures.

Deepavali 2024

On 30 October, ESSEC celebrated Deepavali, the Hindu festival of lights. Organized by Student Life and the ESSEC India club, the event transformed the campus into a hub of traditional Indian culture.

A focal point of the festivities was the intricate rangoli created in the foyer on L3 of our campus.

Made with various colored powders and crafted with care, the rangoli symbolized good fortune and was a visually striking welcome for the ESSEC community and visitors to the campus.

In addition to the rangoli, the event featured a lively dance performance. Students from different countries and traditions performed traditional and contemporary Indian dances.

Global Village

On 5 November, ESSEC hosted our biannual Global Village. This year, students from 11 countries shared their cultures’ richness through food, music, traditional attire, and storytelling.

At each country’s booth, attendees sampled authentic dishes while learning about the customs and heritage that made each culture unique.

Students dressed in traditional attire participated in dances and taught their peers phrases in different languages.

One event highlight was the Serbian booth, where students invited attendees to sample an array of sweets and chocolates.

Alongside these delicacies, students shared facts about notable Serbian figures and the country’s cultural and historical contributions.

At the Moroccan booth, a student dressed in traditional attire even poured tea for attendees in the country’s traditional manner!

With students from 46 countries represented at ESSEC APAC this year, Global Village is just one of our initiatives showcasing our community’s vibrancy.

Through this event and others, we hope to create an inclusive learning environment enriched by multicultural perspectives for students.
