On 10 December 2024, ESSEC APAC hosted our annual TEDxESSECAsiaPacific event, an initiative that provides a platform for “ideas worth spreading”.

As the only TED Countdown event in Singapore, the evening’s talks aimed to spark discussions and inspire sustainable action. Themed “Echoes of the Unspoken”, TEDxESSECAsiaPacific explored the subtle forces and overlooked ideas shaping our world, from hidden biases and quiet revolutions to untold stories and silent ambitions.

The event opened with remarks from Vincenzo Vinzi, Dean and President of ESSEC. Following his remarks, attendees heard from five speakers, ranging from entrepreneurs to academics and industry leaders.

  • Alice Yu Yuebo, Founder of Mama on Palette
  • Carolin Barr, Founder of susGain
  • Jamus Lim, Associate Professor of Economics at ESSEC APAC
  • Anne Langourieux, Founding Member & Leader of The Matcha Initiative
  • Hester Spiegel-van den Steenhoven, Co-founder of Epic Angels

The speakers delved into the importance of third spaces and ways to overcome the cognitive barriers to taking sustainable action. They also elaborated on corporations and businesses’ role in encouraging diverse perspectives and building a greener future.

Reetika Gupta, Deputy Dean of ESSEC APAC, wrapped up the event with closing remarks, reminding guests that change often begins with the small and everyday. The evening concluded with a dinner and networking session.

Thank you to the speakers, organizers, and guests for making this event successful. We look forward to continuing the conversation in future editions of TEDxESSECAsiaPacific.
