Aspiring marketers today are spoiled for choice when it comes to choosing their master’s programs.
However, ESSEC’s MSc in Marketing Management & Digital (MMD) offers an advantage for those seeking careers in the luxury or digital sphere.
Ranked second in the QS 2024 World University Rankings, the program goes beyond equipping students with fundamental marketing knowledge, offering a specialized focus on digital and luxury marketing, and an abundance of industry exposure.
Here are four highlights.
1 | A Strong Focus on Digital
Recognizing that digital marketing is rapidly becoming the most dominant marketing platform with tremendous growth potential, the MMD program offers all our students ample opportunities to amp up their digital know-how with analytics, content, social, and mobile marketing modules.
A week-long Responsible Innovation Bootcamp allows students to learn and apply design thinking principles—a creative problem-solving format—as they create solutions for challenges revolving around sustainability and innovation.
Aligned with ESSEC’s learning by doing pedagogy, students also put their skills to practice in a six-week Digital Marketing Challenge (DMC), where they work on real-world business issues for companies.
Says Xeena Morales from the class of 2021, who worked on a project for luxury giant Richemont: “It’s a privilege to be able to showcase yourself and what you’re capable of—while at the same time learning from them (the participating companies) and getting insights.”
2 | Specialization in Luxury Industry
A second unique feature of the MMD program is its focus on luxury brand marketing.
“The MMD curriculum helped me really understand the essence of luxury even though I had never worked in the industry,” Jyotsana Tripathi, a Client Relationship Manager (CRM) specialist at Christian Dior Couture, shares.
Particularly beneficial to the 2021 alumna was the annual luxury brand marketing project challenge, which allows students to work with different brands, such as Tiffany & Co, Macallan, and more, to solve a real business problem.
This gave Jyotsana experience working with the Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) and Benefit Cosmetics to add to her credibility.
3 | In-depth Career Services
ESSEC recognizes that career support has to be multifaceted. Students can, therefore, look forward to receiving ample support from dedicated career coaches as they embark on their career search.
From resume writing workshops to interview coaching to country-specific career advice to emotional support to LinkedIn workshops to elevator pitch masterclasses—ESSEC’s career services are the students’ best resource to navigate their search for jobs they love.
4 | Invaluable ESSEC Network
Students will have the chance to connect with corporate partners and alumni at various events at ESSEC, such as career fairs, industry talks, workshops, and business challenges.
ESSEC’s specialized job search portal is also an invaluable tool for students to search for exclusive job opportunities and apply for them, with the added boost of recognition thanks to ESSEC’s good reputation.
Many, like Ziyang Wang, a class of 2022 alumna, credit this network for helping them kick-start their careers.
She says: “ I was browsing the ESSEC Jobteaser portal when I came across the job posting for an internship at Christian Dior—and I had never seen it on any other public platforms.
The HR and my current manager recognized my experience at ESSEC, and I got an interview the day after I applied! In fact, thanks to ESSEC career sessions and alumni, I also received several interviews with luxury brands.”
