On 18 January 2024, ESSEC APAC hosted our campus’s champion and finalist teams of the 2024 ESSEC Case Competition for High School Future Leaders.

Seventeen students from Springfield Indonesia and Global Indian International School, accompanied by their business teacher Edward Lee, joined us to celebrate their achievements and receive awards for their outstanding participation. ESSEC also welcomed Christine Manson, CEO and Founder of the 2024 Case Competition partner company Terra Water.

The event featured presentations from Daphne Lui, Associate Academic Director of the Global Bachelor of Business Administration (GBBA) program; Marie-Laure Caille, Adjunct Lecturer and CEO of The Human Factor; and Yvonne Tan, Director of Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions, who shared their visions for the future of business education.

At the event, we also announced that the ESSEC Case Competition had been shortlisted for the Power of Partnership Award by the 2024 QS Reimagine Education Awards. As one of the top three global initiatives recognized by QS, the Case Competition was acknowledged for its role in shaping forward-thinking leaders and making business education relevant, innovative, and accessible to the next generation.

The champion team’s work is far from over—they are currently interning with Terra Water to develop their proposals further and explore ways to expand Terra’s business model beyond Bali, Indonesia.

Adeline Sumardin, a student from Springfield Indonesia and a member of the champion team, Sixsense, shared, “This wasn’t just a learning experience—it was life-changing. As Terra Water interns, we’re refining our ideas to contribute directly to real-world operations and drive positive change.”

We would like to thank all our guests and participants in last year’s competition for their dedication and hard work. We hope to see more inspiring ideas, innovation, and future leaders emerge as we watch this year’s competition!
