With a background in economics and professional experience at EY GDS, Aarushi Kaushik came to ESSEC Business School with a goal: to blend analytical rigor with business strategy and global exposure. Originally from India and a graduate of the University of Delhi, Aarushi is now part of the Master in Management (MiM) program at ESSEC’s Asia-Pacific campus in Singapore—a launchpad for her next big chapter.
“I chose ESSEC because of its academic excellence, global flexibility, and dynamic environment. Starting in Singapore gave me the chance to immerse myself in Asia’s diverse business landscape, and the merit-based scholarship reaffirmed that ESSEC values potential.”
Diving into Asia’s Business Landscape
At ESSEC, Aarushi selected the Business Management in Asia track—a specialization that allows her to explore business dynamics across one of the world’s most vibrant and complex regions.
“From family-run conglomerates to tech-first unicorns, Asia offers a range of business models. This track helps me understand the cultural, policy, and innovation layers that shape strategy in different markets.”
The program’s academic flexibility and experiential nature have been key highlights for her.
“I love the ability to personalize my learning journey through electives and global campuses. The classroom culture is dynamic—full of debates, group work, and case studies. Real-world events and company visits make the learning experience incredibly relevant.”
Where Strategy Meets Impact
Aarushi’s passion lies in solving complex business problems that sit at the intersection of consulting, strategy, and finance. She thrives on decoding markets and using data to fuel business development.
“I enjoy evaluating financial performance, optimizing models, and developing growth strategies. I want to help companies thrive in today’s fast-changing landscape.”
Her dream role? A strategic advisory or business development position in consumer-centric sectors such as luxury, FMCG, or beauty.
“I aim to be a strategist who brings both empathy and analytics to the table—someone who drives sustainable value and purpose-driven innovation.”
From Tax Analyst to Market Researcher
Before joining ESSEC, Aarushi worked as a US Taxation Analyst at EY’s Global Delivery Services, where she served asset management and banking clients.
“The experience sharpened my attention to detail and introduced me to complex financial systems.”
She also interned with a French B2B logistics firm in Singapore, focusing on go-to-market strategies, research, and content optimization.
“That role helped me connect the dots between local insights and broader strategic objectives, reinforcing my decision to pursue global business education.”
Leading by Example
Beyond academics, Aarushi actively contributes to the ESSEC APAC community. She serves as a Career Ambassador, helping bridge students and the Career Services team, and also takes on the role of Student Ambassador, supporting outreach to prospective students.
“These roles have strengthened my communication and leadership skills, while helping me give back to the community.”
She’s also involved in the Consulting Club, participating in peer-led case preps and professional networking events.
“The club has been a great space to practice real-world skills and connect with people who share my interests.”
Advice to Future Candidates
“Make the most of the flexibility ESSEC offers—academically, geographically, and professionally. Step out of your comfort zone and be proactive in shaping your journey.”
She also encourages students to reach out to professors and classmates for support and new ideas.
“The best learning often happens outside the classroom—in conversations, collaborations and unexpected opportunities.”
